Regulatory approval and commercial launch of Revolution (rotational type)
intravascular ultrasound catheter manufactured by Volcano Corporation (Rancho
Cordova, California, USA) |

Goodman received approval from the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare
on July 26th, 2007 for Volcano Corporationfs Revolution IVUS catheter,
and will commence commercial sales in October 2007. |

In 2006, the total market in Japan for IVUS catheters was reported as 148,584
units and was valued at 17,934 million yen (2007 Yano Economic Research
Report). Currently, 75% of the market in Japan consists of sales of the
rotational type catheter. To ensure that the needs of the market are met,
Goodman is pleased to offer both Revolution and Eagle Eye, a conventional
phased-array type catheter, to the Japanese market. The market for IVUS
continues to see growth, due in great part to the problem of long term
stent thrombosis associated with drug eluting stents (drug eluting stents
currently represent more than 70% of the coronary stent market in Japan). |

 |
|
Goodman expects to achieve a full market
release within 6 months and aims to have 50% of the total IVUS market in 2
years.
