Announcement of regulatory approval and commercial sales of SR type endovascular
aneurysm embolic coils (Micrus, United States) |
Goodman received regulatory approval on December 4 for two SR type endovascular
aneurysm embolic coils (product names: Cashmere, Ultipaq), and sales will
commence from January, 2008. |
In addition to the Micrusphere framing coil and the Helipaq filling coil
which commenced sales in April, 2006, the market release of 14 Cashmere
SR (stretch resistance) functionality framing and filling coils and 10
even more flexible "Ultipaq" ultrasoft finishing coils completes
a full line up of bare coils. As a result of this product release
and the market penetration that has been achieved by embolic coils, additional
increases in sales can be expected. |
Both Cashmere and Ultipaq, due to their extremely flexible nature, are
able to preserve and fill the shapes of even complex aneurysms, and SR
functionality ensures excellent safety. |

The approval for Cashmere and Ultipaq was in accordance with initial financial
plans and is not expected to affect the earnings forecast. |
