On January 16, 2004, Guidant Corporation’s subsidiary Advanced Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. filed with the Tokyo District Courts seeking a preliminary injunction against Goodman’s Duraflex coronary stent alleging patent infringement and sought to discontinue sales of the Duraflex stent.

On June 30, 2004, Advanced Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. filed with the Tokyo District Courts withdrawing their case against Goodman.

Due to the above action, there is no longer any concerns over the discontinuation of sales of the Duraflex stent.
